Maharaja, Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi’s landmark 50th film, arrives in theaters today in Tamil and Telugu versions amid considerable excitement. Delve into our review to uncover how the film fares.

Maharaja (Vijay Sethupathi) is a salon owner living with his daughter, Jyothi. One fateful day, he reports to the police that three thieves have stolen his Laxmi (?) and attacked him. The police, confused about Laxmi’s identity, refuse to file a case but reluctantly start searching. Who is Laxmi? Why does Maharaja care so much? Will they find her? Is it Maharaja’s main goal to get Laxmi back? All these questions will be answered in the movie.

I don’t normally write lengthy evaluations, but when it comes to maharaja, I can’t stop myself. What better way to commemorate your 50th film! With Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi and Nithilan have struck gold. A role that is perfectly suited and, dare I say it, penned for Vijay Sethupathi, with sparse dialogue that is nevertheless incredibly expressive, potent, and emotional! Despite the large number of characters in the film, none of them appear to be underutilized and all of them interact or entertain the viewer in some way! The infant who portrayed Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Natty, singamuthu, and the girl who played the daughter role have all performed incredibly well! A really poignant, heartwarming, and emotional conclusion with completely unexpected turns and twists. Second goal for Vijay Sebastian collaboration with Anurag Kashyap.

Maharaja is undoubtedly a picture that will be significant to Vj’s career and one that will be remembered and discussed for a very long time.
Additionally, it is deserving of being shown atop the Burj Khalifa.
