Produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Parasuram wrote and directed the romantic action-drama film The Family Star in the Indian language of Telugu in 2024. Mrunal Thakur and Vijay Devarakonda play the key parts in the movie.
Since this is Vijay’s eleventh film in which he plays the lead, the movie was first formally announced in February 2023 under the working title VD11. The actual title was revealed in October 2023. In July 2023, principal photography got underway. Filming took place in many places, including Hyderabad and New York, over the course of several legs. Music for the movie was composed by Gopi Sundar.
Family Star’s Sankranthi release date was originally set; however, it was rescheduled to prevent conflicting with other Sankranthi movies.
Critics gave The Family Star mostly unfavorable reviews, praising Parasuram’s direction and screenplay, the film’s mediocre comedy, plot, predictability, soundtrack, and performances by the main cast. Despite having a ₹50 crore budget, the movie was a box office flop, earning between ₹19.78 and ₹23.20 crore.

Plot
Present: In the midst of a ceremony, a woman by the name of Indu (Mrunal Thakur) sits melancholy. She shares a narrative about her past when asked about her strange behavior.
Past: Vijay Devarakonda’s Govardhan is a family man. He works in a business to support his family out of selflessness. He also has issues with his brother, who is an alcoholic. Nevertheless, he encounters Indu when she enters his “space”. Indu and his family also became friends very soon after. They both fell in love soon after. Following a significant event, he makes amends with his brother when his mother tells Indu that his brother detested him because Govardhan had shamed him. But when he discovers her thesis about him and his family, He gives her a slap and promises to discipline her. He approaches Jagapathi Babu, a former employer, expresses his desire to join the business, and demands a sizable advance. He exploits that advantage to refute all of Indu’s thesis-writing. But it turns out that Indu is really the head’s daughter. Despite being irritated, he stays with the company and insists on getting everything Indu wants. Upon discovering that his airline tickets were unpaid for, he turns to Indu for financial support for his family. She overhear him talking badly about Indu to a woman, implying that she isn’t the ideal person for him, after they fall in love once more. Indu separates herself from him out of heartbreak. After admitting she overheard him say that She departs from him that day.
Present: After learning about Indu’s true motivation to write the thesis from her father, Govardhan stops her from attending a wedding that was planned for a man who had been hurt by Govardhan and, according to the man’s grandfather, a well-known politician, was the only thing that could heal him. It’s disclosed that Indu attended that wedding. In the end, Govardhan and his mother fight the politician’s men, win back Indu, and tie the knot.

Development
On February 6, 2023, it was revealed that Vijay Deverakonda, who had previously worked well with filmmaker Parasuram on Geetha Govindam (2018), would collaborate with him again on Sarkaru Vaari Paata (2022). The endeavor would reportedly be produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, which Dil Raju and Sirish would jointly head.[9] On June 14, the corporation confirmed the project in a statement released to the public. The cast and crew of the film attended a muhurat puja that week, tentatively designated VD13. Devarakonda and actor Mrunal Thakur’s presence indicated their inclusion. It was announced shortly after main photography started that Divyansha Kaushik will be the second starring actress. In June 2023, rumors regarding the official title, The Family Star, began to circulate.
Music
Gopi Sundar is the composer of the music and background score. This is his third collaboration with Vijay, following Geetha Govindam (2018) and World-Famous Lover (2020); it is his second collaboration with Parasuram following Geetha Govindam. On February 8, 2024, the debut song “Nandanandana” was made available. “Kalyani Vaccha Vacchaa,” which was released on March 12, 2024, came next.Launched on March 25, 2024, “Madhuramu Kadha” is the third single.
