Nithiin plays the lead in Vakkantham Vamsi’s action comedy Telugu film Extra Ordinary Man (2023). Sreeleela, Rajasekhar, Sudev Nair, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, and Sampath Raj play supporting roles. On December 8, 2023, the movie was released to a lackluster reception from reviewers and went on to become a box office disaster.
Plot
New recruit Abhinay, often known as Abhi, tells drug dealer and music enthusiast Selvamani about his past.
Past: Somsasekharam and Usha, Abhi’s parents, are Hyderabad-based junior artists who hope to make it big in Telugu cinema. When Abhi meets businesswoman Likitha, they both start to fall in love. When Abhi gets the opportunity to play the lead in a movie that his friend Rakesh is directing, he quits his job at her company shortly after. When Somashekaram finds out about his resignation, he throws him out of the house. Rakesh, however, has second thoughts and takes Abhi out of the movie.
After suffering a breakup, Abhi goes to a dhaba for a drink. There, he fights with some thugs and beats up Loki, the brother of notorious mobster Nero. Abhi is taken aback to learn that Rakesh named his antagonist in his script Nero. Abhi also discovers that everything that happens is predetermined by the script. Abhi follows the written script and recreates it in real life, believing that this is all God’s will and not acting in the movie. Subsequently, Abhi dares Nero to defeat him in the role of SI Sai “Saitan” Nath, the script’s major protagonist. Nero confronts Abhi and burns the script after learning the truth.
Subsequently, Abhi strikes a deal with Nero to position him as the antagonist, so that Nero can eventually murder him in order to maintain his dominance. As planned, Sai puts an end to Nero’s crimes, setting up a violent altercation. Assuming that Abhi is filming a scene, Likitha, Somasekharam, and Usha arrive to meet him in the interim. They chose to pretend to be Likitha’s parents in front of the people after realizing the predicament, forcing Abhi to act like an orphan. The villagers decide to arrange for Abhi and Likitha to get married. Subsequently, Nero involves IG Vijay Chakravarthy in the matter; nevertheless, Vijay sticks by Abhi and stokes the flames after accepting the facts.
In order to preserve their reputation, Nero stabs Abhi in the last confrontation and sends Vijay a message revealing his true identity as a police officer. Nevertheless, Abhi escapes and informs Nero that the film’s pre-climax occurs during the last battle, and that Nero’s demise signifies the film’s conclusion. Vijay intervenes to control the situation and offers Abhi a new identity so that he may capture Selvamani after Abhi murders Nero in front of him.
Present: Following his history, Abhi arrests Selvamani, who takes vengeance on Abhi after praising his performance. Subsequently, Vijay gives Abhi a new assignment: to apprehend a global criminal.
